Ndejje University
STRCUU Coordinating Institution, Luwero, Uganda

Ndejje University (NDU), established in 1992, is the oldest private university in Uganda. Its main campus is based in the rural Luwero District to respond to communities’ development challenges. The University is owned by the six Church of Uganda Dioceses of Central Uganda, but has an open student admission policy. The university operates along the vision “To be the leading Christian-based University offering quality academic and professional programs and producing graduates of integrity” and a mission “To provide Christian-based high quality and innovative teaching, research and outreach services.”

Soroti University
Soroti District, Uganda

Soroti University is a young public University in Uganda. It was established in 2015 by an Act of Parliament. Its mandate is to provide higher education services, promote research and innovations, and to disseminate knowledge. The University currently has three Schools, namely: School of Health Sciences, School of Engineering and Technology, and School of Management Sciences. The research portfolio, headed by a director, is steadily growing. The requisite research support policy framework has been developed, including, among others, The Research Policy 2023, The Intellectual Property Management Policy 2023, The Research Agenda 2024, and The Gender Policy 2022. 

Research and Education Agency (RAE),
Partner, Kampala, Uganda

Research and Education Agency (RAE) is a Non-Governmental Organisation based in Uganda. It was established in 2015 to improve livelihood opportunities for disadvantaged rural communities in Uganda through increased access to education (basic, TVET and Higher education), agricultural technologies, drinking water and basic health services. RAE works closely with the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) and the National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO) in Uganda. RAE also serves as the Facilitating unit for collaborative undertakings by 57 African Institutions to foster agricultural transformation in Africa and enhancing access of disadvantaged students, especially female students, to basic and tertiary education.

University of Pavia
European Partner, Pavia, Italy

The University of Pavia (UNIPV) in Italy is one of the world’s oldest academic institutions: it was founded in 1361 and until the 20th century it was the only university in the Milan Area and the region of Lombardy. Today it is a comprehensive university, which covers all subject areas - Science and Technology, Engineering, Life Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences - and is composed of 18 Departments offering study programs at all levels, from Bachelor’s degrees to Doctorate programs.

 

Polytechnic Institute of Porto
European Partner, Porto, Portugal

The Porto Polytechnic (IPP) in Portugal is the largest and the most dynamic Polytechnic in the country, occupying the first position in the ranking of the Polytechnic and, in conjunction with major universities, is placed in the upper reaches of the ranking of National Higher Education. Its mission is to lead the Polytechnic subsystem of higher education in Portugal, fulfilling its social responsibility to the community and society within an international framework that strives for excellence. The institution encompasses eight schools, which connect its three campuses, along with 30 research centers. It serves over 20,000 students and offers 59 undergraduate programs and 70 master’s programs across a wide range of fields, including Engineering; Accounting and Administration; Education; Music and Performing Arts; Media Arts and Design; Hospitality and Tourism; Management and Technology; and Health.
